By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): The weekend finishes the way it started, under sunshine. Mainly fair weather prevails across Belize this Sunday, with the familiar 95-degree inland heat, manageable seas, and one small twist: the northern districts may catch slightly more showers later today.
According to the National Meteorological Service, skies will be sunny with a few cloudy spells today and partly cloudy tonight. Showers or thunderstorms will be isolated, with slightly more possible over the northern districts later today, a change of assignment from the south, which has carried the shower duty most of the week.
Temperatures along the coast will reach a high of 89 degrees Fahrenheit (32 Celsius) and a low of 83 (28 Celsius). Inland areas will climb to 95 degrees Fahrenheit (35 Celsius) before dropping to 74 (23 Celsius). In the hills, expect a high of 82 degrees Fahrenheit (28 Celsius) and a low of 68 (20 Celsius). The Sunday advice holds steady: water close, shade often, especially through the afternoon peak.
At sea, conditions run from a light chop to choppy, with easterly winds of 10 to 15 knots and waves of 2 to 5 feet, workable water for the weekend’s final boat runs with the usual care on smaller craft.
On the tropical front, the calm continues. Tropical cyclone formation is not expected in the region over the next 48 hours.
Looking ahead, Monday stays mainly fair with isolated showers or thunderstorms, before a few showers and thunderstorms may develop along the coast and some southern areas on Monday night, easing the country back into the working week.
Today’s high tides are at 6:11 AM and 8:32 PM, with a low tide at 2:10 PM and another low at 12:43 AM tomorrow. The sun rose at 5:34 AM and will set at 6:21 PM. The forecast was issued by forecaster Crystal Rosalez.
