By Aaron Humes: Saturday was a flurry of shopping activity along the main thoroughfares of Belize City as Belizeans took advantage of the second and last General Sales Tax (GST)-free weekend of the month and fourth and last of the year.
With only days to go before Christmas, shoppers rushed to get their supplies and gifts from Public’s Supermarket, James Brodie and Company Limited, Downtown Plaza, Mikado’s, Belize Telemedia Limited, Simon Quan and Company, and other establishments along Albert, Regent and Queen Streets as well as Orange, Church, and King Streets and West Canal.
Below are a few snapshots of the bustle and activity which continues today, Sunday and without the GST-free incentive through Wednesday.
