By Aaron Humes: Police have arrested 19-year-old Giovanni Gillette of Lord’s Bank Village, Belize District, for the offense of kept firearm without a gun license and kept ammunition without a gun license.
The arresting officer reported that he was on a joint GI-3 and QRT patrol on Manta Rey Boulevard in that village at around 5 50 p.m. when his attention was drawn to two male persons who were traveling on separate bicycles. The officers intercepted these two individuals and because they appeared suspicious, a search was conducted on both of them.
On the person of Gillette, the officer discovered a nine-millimeter Smith and Wesson brand pistol with a magazine containing nine live rounds of nine-millimeter ammunition.
