By Zoila Palma: Commissioner of Police A. Richard Rosado, along with the Director of the Leadership Intervention Unit (LIU) and the Police Department’s Sports Coordinator, met with teams set to participate in the upcoming 2025 William Dawson Peace Cup Football Tournament.
The meeting, held at the Raccoon Street Police conference room, brought together team representatives, sponsors, community leaders, and key partners.
Tournament coordinator Douglas Hyde presented the tournament’s rules, schedule, and team jersey selections.
COMPOL Rosado encouraged players to embrace sportsmanship, discipline, and peace throughout the competition, which kicks off June 7 at Marion Jones Stadium.
Twelve teams will compete for the grand prize of $5,000, a trophy, medals, and a chance to represent in the 2025–2026 Belize District First Division.
The tournament is supported by several sponsors, including the Ministry of Home Affairs, LIU, Belize Police Department, and the Embassy of Taiwan.
