Taxi operator robbed at Cinderella Plaza

By Aaron Humes: Well-known taxi operator Cornelio Day, 82, was held up early this morning, Monday, in the Cinderella Plaza Taxi Union parking lot adjoining Kelly Street and Freetown Road.

According to Day, he had parked his vehicle around 6:40 this morning and was sitting inside when a dark-skinned man of slim build with no facial hair and dressed in mostly dark clothing entered his vehicle from the passenger side and held him up with a firearm.

The robber demanded money and Day handed over his cell phone valued at $350 and $500 cash, who got on a bicycle and rode into the Freetown Road intersection and then on to York Street.

Police are investigating.
