By Zoila Palma: The Taiwan Embassy, the U.S. Embassy in Belize, and the Government of Belize jointly hosted the GCTF Franchise Seminar titled “Cybersecurity in the Age of AI” in Belize City on May 13.
The event focused on strengthening cybersecurity cooperation and addressing emerging challenges linked to artificial intelligence and digital security.
In his opening remarks, Taiwan’s Ambassador to Belize, Amino Chi, emphasized Taiwan’s commitment to working alongside Belize, the United States, and other international partners to promote “a secure, open, and resilient digital environment.”
The conference brought together approximately 150 participants from the public and private sectors, along with representatives from academia, to engage with Taiwanese and American cybersecurity experts at the Biltmore Plaza.
“Special thanks to the U.S. Embassy, Belize’s Ministry of E-Governance and Central Information Technology Office—for collaborating with us to organize this important event. Since its inception in 2015, the Global Cooperation and Training Framework (GCTF) has evolved into a vital platform for international professional exchange and capacity building,” the Taiwan Embassy said.
