By Zoila Palma: On the eve of the National Day of Taiwan on October 10, the Taiwan Embassy in Belize hosted a reception to celebrate.
Over 200 guests attended the event, including Belizean government officials, members of academia, business leaders, civil society representatives, media personnel, the international community, and members of the Taiwanese diaspora.
The reception also highlighted the 36th anniversary of Taiwan-Belize diplomatic relations on October 11.
Ambassador Lily Li-wen Hsu, representing the Taiwanese government, presented an award to Ambassador Dr. Candice Pitts in recognition of her contributions to strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.
The Taiwan embassy expressed gratitude to Belizean friends for joining in the celebration, emphasizing the enduring friendship and cooperation between Taiwan and Belize.
