By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Taiwan’s Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung hosted a luncheon on October 29 in Taipei City for Belizean ministers Louis Zabaneh and Michel Chebat.
In his remarks, Minister Lin reaffirmed Taiwan and Belize’s strong partnership built on mutual prosperity. He said he looks forward to expanding bilateral cooperation in green energy and electric vehicles, noting the progress achieved through ongoing projects between the two nations.
Lin also pledged continued support for Taiwan’s Diplomatic Allies Prosperity Project, part of the country’s integrated diplomacy policy that promotes joint national development and enhances the well-being of both peoples.
Zabaneh expressed appreciation for Taiwan’s zero-tariff import policy on Belize’s frozen white shrimp and said that Taiwan’s public transportation measures will serve as a model for Belize’s future development.
Chebat shared that he had gained valuable insights into Taiwan’s solar energy technologies and looked forward to strengthening collaboration in renewable energy and education through internship opportunities for Belizean students.
According to Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, other attendees included Deputy Minister Lin Kuo-shian, Ambassador Katherine Vanessa Meighan, and representatives from Taiwan’s electric vehicle industry, who discussed investment, trade, and smart transportation development.
