By Zoila Palma: On May 5, 2026, Taiwan’s Ambassador to Belize, Amino Chi met with Valerie Woods, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Belize at the National Assembly in Belmopan.
Discussions included parliamentary diplomacy, and a shared commitment to strengthening bilateral exchanges and cooperation grounded in common values and principles.
Ambassador Chi expressed his appreciation to the House of Representatives for its longtime support for democratic Taiwan and strengthening bilateral bonds.
Speaker Woods indicated that Taiwan is an important partner for the national development of Belize.
Woods thanked the people and Government of Taiwan for providing seed capital to kick-start the renovation of the National Assembly, and expressed a strong commitment to promoting enduring friendship between Taiwan and Belize.
