By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police in Orange Walk Town have recovered a quantity of suspected hashish found abandoned on an empty lot, with no arrests made.
According to the Belize Police Department, on Friday, July 3, 2026, at around 6:30 a.m., officers conducted a search at an empty lot on Rio Grande Street. During the search of some bushy areas, police reported finding a transparent plastic bag containing several pieces of a dark solid substance suspected to be hashish.
With no one in the immediate area, the item was taken to the Orange Walk Police Station as found property.
At the station, police said the suspected drugs were weighed at 55.67 grams. The substance was then sealed, labelled, and handed over to the exhibit keeper.
No one has been arrested or charged in connection with the discovery, and the matter remains under police attention.
