By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): After several days of unsettled weather, Belizeans can look forward to improving conditions as moisture and instability gradually decrease across the country.
According to the Belize Meteorological Service, conditions are becoming less moist and unstable, leading to a forecast of generally fair weather for much of the weekend.
Today’s forecast calls for sunny skies with cloudy spells, followed by partly cloudy to cloudy conditions tonight. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to remain isolated across most of the country, although a few additional showers may develop along the southern coast during the night.
Temperatures will remain warm, reaching up to 88 degrees Fahrenheit along coastal areas and 92 degrees inland.
The good news for residents and businesses is that widespread rainfall is no longer expected, providing an opportunity for floodwaters in affected areas to continue receding after several days of heavy rain.
Looking ahead to Sunday and Sunday night, forecasters are predicting generally fair weather with only isolated showers and thunderstorms expected nationwide.
Marine conditions, however, remain somewhat challenging. A Small Craft Caution remains in effect due to occasionally gusty winds and locally rough seas. Wave heights are expected to range between four and seven feet, and operators of small vessels are being advised to exercise caution.
Meanwhile, the National Meteorological Service reports that tropical cyclone formation is not expected anywhere in the region during the next 48 hours.
For many Belizeans, the forecast signals a welcome return to more favorable weather conditions as the country heads into the weekend.
