By Horace Palacio: The National Meteorological Service of Belize has issued the latest weather forecast for today, January 14, 2024, indicating a predominantly sunny day across the country with a few cloudy spells. The weather pattern is being influenced by a light and mostly dry airflow.

As of 6:00 AM, the general situation across Belize is characterized by a light and mostly dry airflow. This is expected to bring sunny skies during the day with a few instances of cloudiness. For tonight, the skies will remain clear to partly cloudy, and any showers that occur will be isolated and sporadic in nature.

The marine forecast predicts light and variable winds, with sea conditions described as slight. Wave heights are expected to range from 1 to 3 feet, making it a relatively calm day for marine activities.

Temperatures across the country will vary depending on the region:

• Coastal areas can expect temperatures of around 86°F (30°C) during the day, dropping to 76°F (24°C) at night.
• Inland regions will see higher temperatures, peaking at 92°F (33°C) and cooling down to 68°F (20°C).
• The hill areas will experience cooler conditions, with daytime temperatures around 76°F (24°C) and nighttime temperatures falling to 64°F (18°C).

The outlook for Monday and Monday night is favorable, with fair weather expected to prevail. There will only be isolated showers, maintaining mostly dry conditions across Belize.

For today, the sun rose at 6:26 AM and will set at 5:37 PM. The moonrise is expected at 9:15 AM, followed by the moonset at 9:12 PM.

The tidal forecast for today indicates a low tide at 6:37 AM, followed by a high tide at 12:38 PM. Another low tide is expected at 6:10 PM, with the next high tide occurring early tomorrow at 12:20 AM.
