By Aaron Humes: A road traffic accident on the Belize Corozal Road this morning resulted in two men being transported to the Northern Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. This was the first of two accidents in the Orange Walk District today, the other occurring this evening.
According to police reports, the collision involved a motorcycle and a car and took place around 10:20 a.m. Investigating officers stated that the motorcyclist, along with a passenger, sustained bodily injuries and received medical attention at the hospital, where medico-legal forms were issued.
At the accident scene, police discovered a black Lifan motorcycle without a license plate lying in the roadway, showing significant front-end damage. Nearby, a black Chevrolet Malibu was parked at the entrance of Sarstoon Street, displaying a dislocated rear bumper. Details of the investigation indicate that the motorcycle was traveling toward Central Park when the Chevrolet Malibu allegedly made a sudden left turn onto Sarstoon Street, leading to the motorcycle crashing into its rear.
Police say investigations are ongoing.
