By  Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police responded to a road traffic accident Sunday evening near the San Lorenzo roundabout, Orange Walk involving a red Ford Ranger and a blue Toyota Matrix, both sustaining damages.

Upon arrival, police observed the red Ford Ranger (LP A3330) with damage to the right side of the bumper, a broken headlight and indicator, and a flat front right tire. The blue Toyota Matrix (LP D00635) had a dislocated rear bumper, broken back glass, and damage to the rear trunk.

Police spoke with Ian Bryan Dawson, 21, who reported he was traveling west to east heading toward the roundabout when he noticed the Toyota Matrix approaching in the opposite direction and suddenly attempting to make a left turn into his lane without using an indicator. Dawson said he applied brakes but the pickup slid and collided into the rear of the Matrix.

The Toyota Matrix was driven by Juan Enrique Rodriquez, 49, a Belizean taxi driver of Trial Farm Village, Orange Walk. Police say Rodriquez accepted fault and both parties agreed to settle the matter through insurance.

A sketch plan was drawn and scene of crime personnel processed the scene. Both drivers were advised to visit the Trial Farm Police Sub-Station to give formal reports.
