By Aaron Humes: A 14-year-old minor has been served with a notice of intended prosecution in relation to a road traffic accident that took the life of Guatemalan national Joel Sandoval Mendoza, 53, of Billy White, Cayo District.
According to ASP Stacy Smith of the Belize Police Department, “On Saturday, December 6, sometime after 6 p.m., Sandoval was on a road in Billy White village when he was struck by a motorcycle driven by a 14-year-old student of the said village. Paramedics from Spanish Lookout rendered assistance and transported Mendoza to the Western Regional Hospital; however, he succumbed to the injuries he sustained sometime after 2 a.m. on December 7.”
The minor was also injured. Police investigations continue.
