By Zoila Palma: STEM U Foundation is bringing together Mopan Technical High School, a government school, and St. Ignatius High School (SIHS), a grant-aided school, through a collaboration aimed at expanding access to technical education and career opportunities for students.
Through the initiative, third and fourth form students of Mopan Technical High School will have access to Welding Technology courses and certification opportunities.
Students will also have the opportunity to pursue specialized Welding and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) certification through STEM U Foundation and the American Welding Society (AWS).
STEM U Foundation expressed appreciation to the principals, vice principals and staff of both schools for their collaboration and support in making the initiative possible.
The partnership is expected to help students gain practical skills and industry-recognized qualifications that can support future education and employment opportunities.
