By Aaron Humes: A stabbing incident occurred on Sunday, June 29, around 5:50 am at Mile 21 George Price Highway, Rockville Village, Belize District.
Juan Rivera, a 44-year-old driver from Rockville Village, received a cut wound to his face during a heated argument with his cousin, who has been detained by police.
According to the police report, Rivera was socializing with the accused and two other male persons when the altercation ensued. He allegedly inflicted the cut wound with a knife and fled the scene. However, he was later apprehended by the police and taken to the Hattieville Police Station pending investigation.
Although a search was made to recover the knife used in the incident, it was not found. Juan Rivera is currently listed in stable condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital’s Surgical Ward.
The police are continuing their investigation into the incident, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
