Sri Lanka’s apparel exports dip in Aug, rise in Jan–Aug 2025

Sri Lanka’s apparel exports dipped 1.33 per cent YoY in August 2025 to $479.14 million, with gains to the US (0.92 per cent) offset by declines in the EU (4.83 per cent) and UK (2.6 per cent).
However, January–August exports rose 7.48 per cent to $3.39 billion, driven by strong EU demand (14.66 per cent) and growth in the US, UK, and other markets.
