By Zoila Palma: Today, the Sporting community across Belize joins in mourning the death of iconic sports journalist Ruben Morales.
Verdes FC said, “We say farewell and Rest In Peace Ruben. Verdes FC always respected and admired your professional reporting. From management and the entire Green Machine family.”
The National Sports Council of Belize extended condolences to Ruben’s family, friends and the sporting community.
“If you grew up listening to sports on the radio, chances are you heard the iconic voice of Mr. Rubén Morales — a voice that became synonymous with Belizean sport.
The National Sports Council of Belize joins the nation in mourning the passing of Mr. Rubén Morales, a true pillar of sports journalism in Belize.
Mr. Morales dedicated his life to telling the stories of our athletes, our teams, and our sporting achievements. Through his words, he did more than report, he inspired, giving recognition to generations of Belizean talent and helping to elevate sport across the country,” the National Sports Council said.
“His passion, professionalism, and unwavering commitment made him a respected and beloved figure within the sporting community. His legacy will continue to echo in every game covered, every story told, and every athlete inspired.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time,” the council added.
