By Zoila Palma: On March 11, 2026, Special Envoy for the Development of Families and Children Rossana Briceno addressed young leaders from across the region at the International Youth Leaders’ Summit in Mexico City.
During the event, the Special Envoy received “The Role Model for Humanity” award.
The Special Envoy discussed the importance of choosing positivity as a source of empowerment, empathy as a foundation for connection, and resilience as a pathway to growth.
“I also reflected on the unique global challenges facing today’s generation and shared my deep belief in the incredible power of young people to shape their communities and confront these challenges with determination, creativity, and heart,” the Special Envoy said.
In addition, she encouraged participants to recognize that even the small decisions we make each day can create positive change, while urging them to always look for opportunities to grow, to lend their voices to meaningful causes, and to play an active role in imagining and building a world we have not yet seen, but already know is possible.
