By Aaron Humes: The Business Chamber of Commerce of Spanish Lookout reports another smashing success with its ninth biennial Industrial and Commercial Expo held last Friday and Saturday.
More than 50 thousand visitors including 57 school buses full of children visited the showgrounds to see 235 booths from 169 exhibitors and 60 food and beverage vendors. The participating businesses ranged from hardware and construction to agriculture, health food, automotive dealers and jewelry vendors, along with activities for children, an animal exhibit, and cattle show and auction.
Prime Minister John Briceño was keynote speaker at the opening ceremony and the Police Department provided on the ground security, keeping the event incident-free.
Gold sponsors were Sol Belize, Caribbean Tire, Universal Hardware, Quality Poultry Products, Westrac and Smart, while silver sponsors were Reimers Service Center, Western Dairies, Bowen and Bowen, Farmers Trading Center, Qwinex, Circle R Products, Belmopan Aggregates and Hardware and Pletts Home Builders.
The next Expo will be held in 2028.
