By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Southern Deep Port Development Ltd. (SDPDDL) has issued a statement clarifying that it has no business or investment partnership with Legacy Holdings of Mexico, despite claims appearing online promoting a project referred to as the “Port of Dangriga.”
In a press release dated December 3, 2025, SDPDDL said it became aware that Legacy Holdings had posted information online suggesting involvement in a development proposal for the Dangriga area. The company described the publication as unauthorized and confirmed that it has requested that the information be removed immediately.
According to the release, SDPDDL held preliminary discussions with Legacy Holdings earlier this year after the company expressed interest in potential investment opportunities in Belize. Those talks reportedly began in April and concluded in September, but no agreement or partnership was ever formed.
SDPDDL added that it has also engaged in discussions with other investors who have expressed interest in its ongoing development plans.
The company emphasized that it remains committed to advancing the Commerce Bight Port project, which is envisioned as a luxury cruise port and marina designed to generate significant economic opportunities for residents of Dangriga and surrounding communities.
SDPDDL ended by reaffirming that any official information about the project will come directly from the company.
