By Breaking Belize News Staff: Media houses, Channel 7, Plus TV and X TV have written to Prime Minister John Briceno urging the release of surveillance footage of the night Joseph Budna was reportedly beaten and abducted in Orange Walk.

The media houses are requesting the release of the videos from:

The Orange Walk District Sub-Treasury

The Sandy Hunter Library

The Ministry of Natural Resources, District office/ Elections and Boundaries OW office.

The Banquitas House of Culture

The Social Security Board,  Orange Walk Headquarters

The National Bank of Belize, Orange Walk Branch

The media houses are requesting those files from 8:25 p.m. to 8:35 p.m. on the night of August 22, 2025.

“All six of these offices had a view of the area where the kidnapping of Ryan Joseph Budna occurred.

It is critical to the public interest, and to the principles of transparency, that these recordings be released. Public access to the footage will help ensure that the truth is known and provide assurance that no cover-up is taking place,” the letter explained.
