Soak up the Belize sun before the rain rolls in tonight

By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Belizeans can look forward to a bright start to the day, as generally fair weather conditions prevail across the country.

According to the National Meteorological Service, it will be sunny with a few cloudy spells today and cloudy at times tonight. Showers or thunderstorms will be isolated, with a few more likely occurring mostly over southern and some central areas late tonight.

Temperatures along the coast will reach a high of 89 degrees Fahrenheit (32 Celsius) and a low of 79 (26 Celsius). Inland areas will be hotter, climbing to 94 degrees Fahrenheit (34 Celsius) and dropping to 74 (23 Celsius). In the hills, expect a high of 82 degrees Fahrenheit (28 Celsius) and a cooler low of 67 (19 Celsius).

At sea, winds will blow from the east at 5 to 15 knots, with light chop and waves of 2 to 4 feet.

On the tropical front, there is good news. No tropical cyclone formation is expected over the region during the next 48 hours.

Looking ahead to Tuesday and Tuesday night, it will be cloudy at times with a few showers and thunderstorms occurring around the country on Tuesday. Shower activity will then decrease and become isolated Tuesday night, except for the south, where a few more are expected.

Today’s high tides are at 9:03 AM and 10:48 PM, with a low tide at 4:46 PM and another low at 3:27 AM tomorrow. The sun sets this evening at 6:31 PM and rises tomorrow at 5:21 AM. The forecast was issued by forecaster Tareek Matthews.
