By Zoila Palma: The Taiwan Embassy in Belize joined Mayor of Belmopan Pablo Cawich and members of his delegation on March 14, 2026 as he departed the Philip Goldson International for Taiwan.
The Belmopan City Council was invited by their sister city, Taipei fir the 2026 Smart City Summit & Expo.
During their visit, the delegation will attend the Taipei International City Forum and the Smart City Summit & Expo, to explore topics including AI and big data, sustainable development, and cultural heritage.
“The Embassy wishes the delegation a fruitful visit and looks forward to the strengthening of Belmopan-Taipei city partnership and the friendship between Belize and Taiwan,” the Taiwan Embassy said.
The 2026 Smart City Summit & Expo in Taiwan is Asia’s largest IoT-focused smart city trade show, held in Taipei (March 17–20).
The 2026 event focuses on “AI Creates New Urban Horizons” and “Digital and Green Transformation,” featuring AI city pavilions, net-zero solutions, robotics, and 5G technology, bringing together global city leaders, businesses, and startups.
