Slovakia stun Belgium 1-0 at UEFA EURO 2024 on Monday

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Slovakia upset Belgium, the third-seeded country in the world, 1-0 in the second Group E match at the UEFA European Championship (EURO 2024) on Monday at the Frankfurt Arena in Frankfurt, Germany.

Ivan Schranz scored the only goal of the match for Slovakia who were able to hold off the Belgians.

Romelu Lukaku saw two of his goals ruled out after video review.

Earlier in the day, Romania blasted Ukraine 3-0 at the Munich Football Arena in Munich, Germany on goals by Nicolae Stanciu (29), Răzvan Marin (53’), and Denis Drăguş (57^th).

Romania (+3) and Slovakia (+1) now lead Group E with six points apiece while Belgium and Ukraine follow without any points.

In the final game on Monday, Austria play France in Group D. The Netherlands lead this group after their 2-1 win over Poland on Sunday.
