Skeletal human remains found at Consejo Village, suspected to be missing taxi driver Rosalito Teodoro Pacheco

By Aaron Humes: Police are investigating the discovery of apparent human remains suspected to be those of missing taximan Rosalito Teodoro Pacheco from Corozal.

On Monday at about 1:30 p.m., acting on information received of a decomposed body found on a bushy area on Consejo Road, Corozal District, Corozal CIB personnel and Crime Scene personnel visited an undeveloped area on the Consejo Road, where police made checks in some bushes about a quarter mile from Consejo Road off a dirt road and found skeletal human remains along with deteriorated clothing being a green polo shirt, black long cloth pants with a brown belt, a pair of black dress shoes and a pair of black socks believed to be that of Pacheco, 57, of San Joaquin Village who was reported missing on February 1, 2024.

The remains and clothing were collected and transported to the Corozal Police Station. The wife and the daughter of Pacheco were contacted and visited the station where the clothing was shown to them for identification purposes. Both identified the clothing to be that of Rosalito Pacheco. The remains were then transported to the National Forensics Science Services Laboratory Morgue at Ladyville for storage awaiting an examination and DNA comparison.

Police investigations continue.
