By Zoila Palma: Six Belizean nurses have successfully completed an 18-month professional training program at Chi Mei Medical Center in Taiwan, marking another milestone in the growing healthcare partnership between Belize and Taiwan.
Belize’s Ambassador to Taiwan, Dr. Candice Pitts celebrated the achievements of Kendra Denise Betancourt, Karla Jamileth Padilla Bradley, Karina Mortis, Marisely Clotilde Juchim, Renan Romuald Chavarria, and Teona Leopolda Ruiz.
These nurses represent the latest group of Belizean healthcare professionals to benefit from the bilateral training initiative.
The program stems from a 2019 Letter of Intent signed between Chi Mei Hospital and the Ministry of Health and Wellness, aimed at fostering collaboration in medical training, technology exchange, and professional development. To date, 14 Belizean nurses have taken part in the initiative.
The Embassy of Belize extended its congratulations and best wishes to the graduates as they return home to contribute their advanced skills and knowledge to Belize’s healthcare system.
