By Aaron Humes: Police in Caye Caulker have detained six individuals, four males and two females, for possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply and keeping unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
The arrests followed an incident at Boozy Eel Beach Bar on Avenida Hicaco, Caye Caulker Village, where a man allegedly fired shots from a black firearm with an extended clip. Police retrieved two live rounds and two expended shells from the scene.
Later, police stopped a boat at the Northern Fisherman Cooperative Pier and found three 9mm live rounds, two expended 9mm shells, and 2.215 pounds of suspected cannabis. A 9-millimeter Glock 17 Gen 4 firearm and extended magazine were also recovered from the water.
