By Breaking Belize News Staff: Two sibling Customs officers accused of abetting the importation of more than 151 pounds of marijuana were back in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, where they received disclosure in their ongoing criminal case.
The accused, Cheryl Castillo Moreno and her brother Athlee Castillo, appeared just before midday in Court #1 before the Chief Magistrate. They were handed 95 pages of disclosure, which was personally provided by Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Cheryl-Lynn Vidal, who is prosecuting the matter herself.
The pair was first arraigned on October 2, 2025, charged jointly with abetment to import 151 pounds of marijuana, a quantity authorities allege carries a street value in the millions. At that time, the DPP raised no objection to bail, and each was granted bail of $20,000, which they have since met.
The case has been adjourned to February 3, 2026, when it is expected to resume for further case management. The defendants are represented by attorney Richard “Dickie” Bradley.
