By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Belizeans can expect a wet weekend ahead as moist and unstable conditions continue across the country, according to the National Meteorological Service.
Saturday’s weather will feature cloudy skies and intermittent sunshine, with showers and isolated thunderstorms expected throughout the day. Rainfall will begin near coastal and offshore areas before spreading inland by afternoon.
Conditions will intensify overnight, bringing more showers and isolated thunderstorms across northern and coastal areas. Meteorologists warn that Sunday and Sunday night will likely see even more widespread rainfall, particularly across northern and central Belize, as the system continues to move through.
Despite the increased moisture, no tropical cyclone formation is expected in the North Atlantic Basin over the next 48 hours.
Winds will remain light and variable, keeping seas calm and waves between 1 and 3 feet. Daytime temperatures will reach highs of 88°F (31°C) on the coast and 92°F (33°C) inland, while nighttime lows fall to the low 70s.
The Met Service encourages residents to prepare for possible heavy downpours in localized areas and to stay informed through regular weather updates throughout the weekend.
