By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred Sunday night near the Trial Farm basketball court in Orange Walk Town.
Reports indicate that shortly before 8:00 p.m., officers responded to the area near an annual Mother’s Day event hosted by Orange Walk North Area Representative Ramon “Monchi” Cervantes, where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
Initial investigations revealed that two men wearing camouflage shirts reportedly drove by the area and opened fire, injuring two individuals before fleeing toward the river behind the park.
Both victims were rushed for medical treatment, but one of the injured men later succumbed to his injuries at the Northern Regional Hospital. He has been identified only by the alias “Wagon.”
Police continue processing the scene as investigations remain ongoing.
