By Aaron Humes: On Friday afternoon, a lone gunman opened fire on a group of men socializing in a yard on Partridge Street (Amandala Drive) in Belize City just after 4 in the afternoon.
Among those present was 26-year-old Earl Anderson, a Belizean handyman from Vernon Street. Anderson suffered two gunshot wounds during the attack while the other three individuals were unharmed.
The assailant reportedly approached the group on bicycle before firing several shots at them, then rapidly fleeing the scene. Anderson was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH), where he is currently receiving treatment in critical condition.
The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. Investigations are ongoing as police seek to apprehend the individual responsible.
