By Aaron Humes: 18-year-old Shemar Faber has passed on after a seven-month battle for life. Faber died Tuesday morning while hospitalized, per Belize News Network.

He was one of four men shot in a drive-by incident on March 9 on the Philip Goldson Highway. Faber was inside a vehicle with Ronlee Petillo, who was left paraplegic from the shooting, and two other men, Cameron August and Joseph Lee Garcia; Garcia tragically lost his life in the incident.

Despite his valiant efforts to recover, Faber’s injuries proved too severe, and he spent his last few months on feeding tubes, struggling to breathe on his own. It comes just a week after Faber’s mother, Shaniele Faber, was found murdered and dumped in a garbage drum off Amandala Drive. The family is now mourning the loss of two loved ones in a span of just one week.

The family has asked for respect and privacy during this difficult time. The family hopes to bury Shemar and his mother together.
