Seventy-five new citizens sworn in

By Zoila Palma:  On Thursday, February 26, 2026, 75 persons swore their allegiance to Belize as they became citizens.

Minister of Immigration Kareem Musa congratulated the new citizens as they took the oath of allegiance, pledging to uphold the Constitution and laws of Belize.

The new citizens pledged to respect the country’s history and culture, and contribute faithfully to its development.

The oath also called on them to devote themselves to the service and well-being of the Belizean people, strengthen democracy and the rule of law, and defend the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

After singing the national anthem, the new Belizeans proudly received their certificates of citizenship.

Minister Musa was joined by CEO Tanya Santos and other representatives from the Ministry.
