By Zoila Palma:  On February 13, 2026, Sergeant Jereen Chun, Foreign Guest Instructor from the Belize Defence Force assigned to the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation (WHINSEC), graduated from the rigorous U.S. Army Air Assault Course 506-26 conducted at the Warrior Training Center, Fort Benning, Georgia.

The U.S. Army Air Assault Course is one of the Army’s most challenging schools, designed to train Soldiers in helicopter-borne operations and the integration of aviation assets into ground missions.

The course focuses on air assault mission planning, aircraft safety and inspections, sling load operations, and rappelling techniques. Candidates must meet demanding physical standards while demonstrating precision, discipline, and technical expertise.

The BDF noted that graduates of the Air Assault Course are better prepared to plan and execute air-mobile operations, safely coordinate rotary-wing support, and conduct rapid deployment missions in complex environments.

The course enhances leadership, confidence, operational readiness, and the ability to operate effectively in high-tempo situations.

The Belize Defence Force extended congratulations to Sergeant Chun on this outstanding professional achievement.
