Senior Immigration Officer on administrative leave following altercation with woman at Western Border

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Reports to Breaking Belize News (BBN) indicate that a senior Immigration Officer at the Western border has been placed on administrative leave following an altercation with a woman on Monday night.

Witnesses told BBN that the woman was passing through the Western Border when she allegedly got into an altercation with a male Immigration officer.

According to reports, the woman complained about the officer taking too long to stamp her passport. That is when the male immigration officer approached the woman and allegedly pushed her.

The woman fell to the ground and became unconscious.

The woman was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance.

Authorities have since reviewed the surveillance footage as the investigation continues.
