By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 69-year-old fisherman from Belize City, Leopold Westby, appeared in court today on Tuesday on a drug possession charge. Westby, who resides on 6th Street in the Kings Park area, was accused of possessing an undetermined amount of crack cocaine on Vernon Street on Wednesday, November 5.
Westby, who appeared unrepresented in Court #7, pleaded not guilty, shaking his head in disagreement throughout the proceedings. Despite his denial, the Magistrate set his bail at $500, which he was able to meet. Under the bail conditions, Westby must avoid any further legal infractions and attend all court hearings.
His next court appearance is scheduled for December 23, 2024.
