By Zoila Palma: Senator Rozel Arana, a member of the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus, represented Belize at the Commonwealth Parliamentary Climate Forum, held from October 14–16, 2025, at the UK Parliament in London, United Kingdom.
The three-day forum, organized by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association United Kingdom (CPA UK), convened Parliamentarians from across the Commonwealth to discuss the legislative role in advancing climate action.
The programme featured sessions on parliamentary oversight, adaptation and resilience, climate finance, and community engagement, emphasizing evidence-based policymaking and innovative approaches to sustainability.
Senator Arana joined lawmakers, experts, and representatives of international organizations to exchange insights on strengthening climate governance and promoting sustainable development.
The event also served as a platform for collaboration and the sharing of best practices to enhance parliamentary engagement in addressing climate challenges.
Senator Arana’s participation and travel were fully sponsored by CPA UK, and she returned to Belize on October 18, 2025.
