By Aaron Humes: Leader of the Opposition Tracy Taegar-Panton saluted Lead Opposition Senator Patrick Faber as he made a homecoming to Anglican Cathedral College (ACC), where he previously taught and served as vice-principal.
Faber returns after having served as Minister of Education and earned a post-graduate degree from Valdosta State University.
Taegar-Panton highlighted the significance of imparting knowledge and experience to young minds, describing it as a noble undertaking.
She further noted that the students, many of whom hail from the Albert Constituency and the wider south side community, are fortunate to have him on board.
The message concluded with a quote from Proverbs, “Train a child a way he should go and he will never depart from it,” emphasizing the importance of guidance and mentorship in shaping the young minds of tomorrow.
Another media house had earlier mocked Faber for having to “get a real job” and being humbled before deleting the article. In the aftermath of that post, however, many Belizeans rushed to his defense noting the nobility in returning to work and doing so in the often under-rewarded profession of teaching. Support for Faber’s decision to return to the classroom spanned the political divide, with many putting politics aside to congratulate Faber for his return to the classroom.
The former Collet area representative was defeated in general elections earlier this year before being appointed as a Senator.
