By Aaron Humes: The Upper Chamber of the National Assembly has reconvened for the first time since the Budget Debate in May.
Senators will debate several bills and motions brought from the Lower House, including the Central Bank of Belize (Amendment) Bill, 2025; Bail Bill, 2025; Law Revision and Law Reform Bill, 2025; and National Assembly (Powers, Privileges, and Immunities) Bill, 2025.
Holdover Bills also scheduled for debate include the Customs and Excise (Amendment) Bill, 2025; Insolvency and Bankruptcy Bill, 2025; Magistrate Court Bill, 2025 and People’s Constitution Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2025.
Motions to appoint the Senate’s members of the Joint Public Accounts Committee and support for Taiwan are also on the agenda.
