Security guard charged with raping a minor in Silk Grass

By Horace Palacio: Police have formally arrested and charged 28-year-old Cesar Heraldo Diaz, a Belizean security guard from Silk Grass Village, Stann Creek District, with three counts of unlawful sexual intercourse.

The charges follow a report made by a female minor, who, accompanied by her mother, filed the complaint on January 10, 2025. After an investigation and evidence review, authorities proceeded with the arrest upon the advice of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Diaz was taken into custody and formally charged on January 30, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. The case is now before the courts, and further legal proceedings are expected.

Authorities have not released additional details regarding the investigation, however, they have assured that the matter is being handled with the utmost seriousness and diligence.
