By Rubén Morales Iglesias: An unusual accident occurred on Libertad Avenue in Belmopan on Tuesday, allegedly caused by a scorpion sting. Reports suggest that a woman lost control of her vehicle after being stung twice by a scorpion, once on her leg and another time on her arm.
The sudden pain and shock allegedly caused her to lose control of her car, resulting in a collision with a motorcyclist.
The reports said the motorcyclist sustained injuries to his leg and was promptly attended to by emergency services.
Authorities are investigating the incident.
Scorpion stings can cause intense pain, numbness, and even temporary paralysis.
