By Breaking Belize News Staff: Belize continues to experience scorching conditions as fair, warm, and mostly dry weather dominates the national forecast.
The National Meteorological Service has issued a heat alert, with inland areas expected to hit highs of 97°F (36°C).
Residents across the country woke up to clear skies, and while some patchy clouds may drift in, any rainfall today will be isolated and minimal.
The intense heat is being felt most strongly in central and western Belize, where prolonged exposure can lead to heat-related illnesses.
Officials are urging the public to limit outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours, stay hydrated, and keep an eye on vulnerable family members, including the elderly and children.
On the marine front, moderate easterly winds of 10 to 20 knots are creating waves between 4 and 6 feet.
Small craft operators are being advised to navigate with caution, especially in open seas.
With similar conditions expected on Thursday and into the night, the dry spell shows no immediate sign of breaking. The early summer pattern continues to build, raising concerns about water usage and the health of crops and livestock across the country.
