School fight leaves La Inmaculada student with broken leg

By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A confrontation between students from two schools has been resolved peacefully following police intervention, despite one student sustaining a serious injury.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, around 3:00 p.m. in the market area commonly used for bus parking. According to reports, three brothers from St. Peter’s School became involved in a physical altercation with a student from La Inmaculada School.

As a result of the fight, the La Inmaculada student suffered a broken tibia. A medical examination later confirmed the injury as wounding.

The following day, both families met with Community Oriented Policing officers Ashmic Brown and Darian Romero to address the situation. During the meeting, both sides shared their accounts of the incident.

While the injured student’s parent declined to press charges, she requested support for medical expenses and mobility aids. The mother of the three boys agreed to assist, and the students issued an apology.

Police emphasized the seriousness of such behavior and warned of potential legal consequences if similar incidents occur in the future. Authorities will continue to monitor both parties, but no further action has been requested at this time.
