By Horace Palacio: Santander Sugar Group is offering a unique opportunity for individuals interested in joining its 2025 Harvest Team by hosting a free two-day tractor operator training session on November 29 and 30, 2024, at its workshop area.
The training aims to equip participants with the skills required to operate tractors safely and efficiently during the upcoming sugarcane harvest season. The sessions run from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.
To participate, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Possess a valid Social Security Card
- Wear appropriate attire (no loose clothing, shorts, or flip-flops)
Transportation to the workshop area will be provided from multiple locations, including Armenia, Belmopan, Westar, and Valley of Peace, with buses departing as early as 5:30 a.m. Participants are advised that motorcycles are not allowed on the premises for safety reasons.
Santander Sugar representatives emphasized that this training is not just an opportunity to learn a new skill but also a gateway to becoming part of Belize’s bustling sugar industry.
