San Pedro Town man hospitalized after stabbing

By Aaron Humes: A San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye man was found stabbed early this morning, Wednesday.

According to Police, at 12:55 a.m., Abimael Trejo, a 33-year-old Belizean bartender from San Pedro Town, arrived at the polyclinic with a stab wound to his body. Trejo was treated and later airlifted to Belize City in a critical condition.

Initial investigation revealed that, at about 12:40 a.m., Trejo was walking home in the San Mateo area when he was attacked and stabbed by an unknown man. Trejo managed to escape and continued his journey home. Upon arriving home, he was transported to the clinic for medical treatment.

Trejo is presently listed in stable condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH).

Police are investigating.
