San Pedro High, Ladyville Technical to represent Northern Region in National Secondary Schools Sports Association Softball Championships on Friday, Saturday in San Narciso, Corozal

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: San Pedro High (SPHS) Boys and the Ladyville Technical High School (LTHS) Girls will represent the Northern Secondary Schools Sports Association, also known as the Northern Sports Teachers Association (NSTA), in the National Secondary Schools Sports Association (NSSSA) Softball Championships on Friday and Saturday in San Narciso, Corozal District.

On Wednesday, the SPHS Sharks won the NSTA Softball Championship final 6-5 over Orange Walk Technical High School (OWTHS) at Rogers Stadium in Belize City.

Last Saturday, Ladyville Technical clinched the NSTA Girls Championship in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye. The boys final between San Pedro High School and Orange Walk Technical High School had to be postponed due to darkness and is being played on Tuesday at Rogers Stadium in Belize City.

SPHS and LTHS will be joining the other regional champions in the NSSSA Softball Championships at San Narciso.

On Saturday as well, St John’s College (SJC) boys and Nazarene High School girls won the right to represent the Central Secondary Schools Sports Association (CSSSA) as they both triumphed over the EP Yorke teams 15-5 with the mercy rule applied in the third inning.

Bishop Martin High School of the Northern Region will be hosting this year’s two-day boys and girls tournaments.
