By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Under 13 Boys Football Championship organized by the Orange Walk Football Association (OWFA) is in full swing, and San Jose FC have firmly established themselves as the team to beat. After six weeks of intense competition, San Jose FC lead the standings with an impressive record.
San Jose FC have won all five of their matches, securing 15 points and have swiftly established themselves as favourites to win the tournament. Their performance has put them well ahead of their closest rivals, Vikings FC, who have nine points from five matches. With a goal difference of 16, from 21 scored and five allowed, San Jose FC have not only excelled in winning games but also in both scoring and defending.
San Estevan Youngsters FC and Mis Nietos FC also sport nine points each but trail Vikings in third and fourth places respectively on goal difference. San Lazaro Revolution FC are also close in standings, with eight points in fifth place. Trinidad FC and Yo Creek Young Crushers FC follow with 7 points each in sixth and seventh places respectively. We Da Tribe FC are next with four points, and Sandy Field Wolverines FC are yet to secure a point.
The competition continues to be fierce as teams strive to improve their standings and challenge the leaders. With more matches scheduled in the coming weeks, fans can look forward to action-packed games.
The tournament continues on Sunday.
Sunday’s U13 fixtures are as follows:
- 9:00 am: Yo Creek Young Crushers vs. San Estevan Youngsters
- 10:30 am: We Da Tribe vs. FC Trinidad
- 12:00 noon: San Jose Football Club vs. Vikings FC
- 1:30 pm: Bomb Squad vs. San Lazaro Revolution FC
