San Ignacio/Santa Elena set for tourism upgrade with government partnership

By Horace Palacio: The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) and the San Ignacio/Santa Elena Town Council have announced a collaborative effort to strengthen the municipality’s position as a leading tourism destination within Belize.

Following discussions between the town’s Mayor and Belize’s Tourism Minister, Anthony Mahler, plans were initiated to bolster the region’s appeal and sustainability as a travel hub. The Mayor expressed appreciation for the Minister’s commitment to the partnership.

“These collaborative projects promise significant benefits for our municipality, furthering our growth as a premier inland destination,” the Mayor stated. “Further details on these important initiatives will be announced in the coming weeks.”

The Mayor emphasized a continued commitment to securing partnerships and funding to drive sustainable development within the San Ignacio and Santa Elena communities.
